This part of the Turkish coast I did not visit this summer so I cannot comment much on the book, except to say that this is a new edition. As things tend to change very quickly in areas under such high development the only time to go is when the guide books are brand new. So I guess, this is your chance…
New edition: Bodrum to Marmaris
New edition: Antalya to Demre
It was just my luck that this new edition was published only days after I stayed in Antalya for a few days early this summer… The edition I had was outdated to the point of being almost unusable. On the other hand, if walking in coastal landscapes are your passion, there is no reason to go Antalya at all, regardless of guide book.
Walking in Malta
Sunflower have updated their Malta guide this summer. I have used a couple of previous editions and not been entirely happy. I will pass this one by, I already have a very promising Gozo guide to try out (see below)…
Walking on Cyprus
While we are on the topic of guide books written by Geoff Daniel, I can also mention the latest edition of his Cyprus guide. I used a previous edition back in 2002, and was in general very happy with it.
Walking on Jersey
Walking on Guernsey
La Sportiva Typhoon GTX Walking Boots

I needed new boots and as I anticipated next walking season will bring some lighter walks than usual I selected a pair of slightly lighter boots this time. Still my favorite Italian brand La Sportiva. There are in fact several good brands from Italy, and I find Italian boots in general unsurpassed in both quality and comfort, even for Scandinavian feet. Some sellers and manufacturers might claim otherwise, but that is contrary to my experience.
The Mightiest Punch

The mightiest punch you get from any Norwegian beer is the blow you get from Thor’s Hammer. This insane brew from Ægir packs a whopping 13.2 % alcohol! Calling it a beer might be a stretch though, the correct term is Barleywine.
Will This Be Entertaining?
Well yes, I would think so…
