Ιωάννινα – Zagoria region in Epirus
Ioannina is a good springboard to the Zagoria region as well as a most beautiful town to visit in itself. Perhaps not so much a walking destination but strolling along the lakeside promenade is absolutely wonderful. Birdwatching is also mandatory 😉
The town can also be great for eating and drinking typical Greek fare. I absolutely loved the many varieties of retsina that was on offer.
Selected walks: No guide or map is really needed.

•1 LAKESIDE (approx. 3h): This walk/stroll as I did it use the promenade as far as it goes then continuing on a walking path and bicycle road/street. After that a gravel road will continue around the southeastern end of the lake. Where this road turn sharply inland and leaves the lake I turned back. This is around the 6-7 km mark.
• Good starting points • You are already there…
• How to get there: • By air (charter) is by far the easiest
• More info: Sorry, none yet
