I think it is my destiny more and more to use these very good maps and break free from the guide books. I always seem to spend almost as much time trying to figure out the walking guides than to do any actual walking, while a serious walking map would have suited me much better. I mean, the guide books even forced me to create this web site to begin with to try to correct all the errors! (So it ain&#8217;t all bad&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>An internet friend of mine characterized one particular and fairly formidable writer as being &#8220;unable to explain his way out of a paper bag&#8221;. I will not agree 100%, but I do get the point.
