What if a vampire moved into your neighborhood? After two good movie adoptions the “horrible” book by John Ajvide Lindquist has now moved into the theaters. This will be scary stuff. Too bad it is not playing near me.

My first bottle of “Julebrygg” this year may be the best also. I hope I can get hold of more of it. Fantastic beer. Even better is that this is in the Viking tradition celebrating “ÝLIR” (Jul). This new Single Malt Scotch Whisky of the year (more or less) shows great promise. Very good even now at max 3-4 years of age!

Also new from Discovery this year, a new edition of their Madeira walking map.

This is the 2nd edition in the same series for neighboring Tenerife. Also new this year. I have used the 1st edition of this book and was very happy with it.

This walking map is the perfect company to the book below. These super-durable maps really hold what they promise in my experience.

This is the new edition of “Walk! Lanzarote” by Discovery Walking Guides. I have not used any edition of this book on Lanzarote myself, but can only say that I have been very happy with the books in this series that I *have* used.
